Post-it note poetry–Expectant

The weather here is foul, 3 days of temperatures edging toward the high 30’s, lightning but no rain and great big moisture laden clouds.

So here is my poem for the day:shot_1361080735573

Expectant

Pregnant

clouds hang listless

and not yet come full term.

Expectant, I wait for the waters

to break

Note: Post-it note poetry was the brainchild of Jodi Cleghorn and Adam Byatt it runs until the end of February

Very nice! I love that connection between "pregnant" and "waiting for the waters to break". Clever stuff, Sean!

Thanks Sue. Unfortunately I can't induce this birth. The lack of rain an heat has sapped all my energy.

You need a rain maker... or a midwife to the clouds.

I missed the title in the FB group - and it is so perfect. One of my favourite topics. And I am getting to truly appreciate the form of cinquain (so much I'm going to have a crack at it this coming week!)
Oh i like the way you are thinking. I have compiled a couple of longer poems - a cynical bush ballad but I am waiting for the last verse to present itself
