Night Creatures to go live on Amazon

The excellent Night Creatures series by Marianne de Pierres – Burn Bright , Angel Arias and Shine Light will be available in eBook form on Amazon at the end of March.

Previously its only been legally available in electronic form in Australia and New Zealand. Which I am sure has been frustrating for Marianne and some of her international fans.

I have read Burn Bright, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I found it to be a fascinating mix of teen Goth culture, social comment, sci-fi action and adventure. It’s one of those books that can be enjoyed by adults and mature teens. A boo that has something to say without beating you around the head with it.

All I can say is, about time! They're wonderful books. The kids at my school love them. Mind you, they are for good readers only - we've been offering Burn Bright in Literature Circles for the last couple of years, since the author herself dropped in at my school and chatted to book club, and it tends to be chosen by those with the best vocabulary. Who then go on to have some fabulous discussions about it(I've recorded some on DVD for staff and students). Last year, two Year 7 girls interviewed Marianne on my web site, where it's building up a nice lot of hits and I've included it in my ebook of author interviews. And another girl did a Burn Bright book trailer, which she put up on YouTube and Marianne put on her web site.

That sounds like an absolutely wonderful group of kids you have there. Thinking of something similar for my school.

Email me with an address and I can post you both DVDs, which feature both the kids' discussions and the book trailers they did. Oh, and, if you like, the readings fom Banned Books Week, in case you have a chook in term 3 and 4?
