Galactic Chat 11: Helen Lowe

I had the good fortune to interview famous New Zealand author Helen Lowe early last week.  The podcast has received the tender touches of the production team  and is available for download or streaming.

The Show notes

Sean interviews  New Zealand author Helen Lowe. It’s a lengthy conversational interview in which they discuss Helen’s career as both an award winning YA novelist and epic fantasy author, the influence of Lord of the Rings on speculative fiction writing scene in New Zealand and the effects of the Christchurch earthquakes.
Helen is launching the second book in the acclaimed Wall of Night Series,  hosting blog parties and guest posting on a number of well known sites like SF Signal.  She can be found at her blog or on Twitter.

You can stream it below or download it here.

Just listening to Coode Street and then this will be my next listen!
My recent post Currently reading: Caleb's Crossing by Geraldine Brooks
Well, that's okay then, if its Coode Street.
Just finished listening to the podcast - excellent interview Sean. David Gemmell books were formative in my early reading - I got a kick out of that section of the interview.

I am glad you enjoyed it Mark. I had collected the entire Gemmell canon before I went to uni. In a fit of stupidity I traded them all in at a second hand book store. If I could only go back and kick myself.
Sounds like we were reading them at very similar stages of life. Now I'm feeling very nostalgic! I'm going to have to dig out all my old (very dog-eared) copies of the Gemmell back catalogue and go on a trip down memory lane.

Did you get the Legend graphic novel?
Sadly, I lent my copy to a friend in the mid-90s, never to be seen again.

Yes. Had that happen before.
