The World Fantasy Awards Lifetime Achievement Winners for 2012 are Alan Garner and George R.R. Martin.

Now I can’t really be disappointed at these results.  Really it’s a celebration of the genre and for people to have been nominated is almost as good as winning.  The warm glow one gets from being recognised is some times more important than sales or taking home a bust of Lovecraft.

I secretly hoped that Kathleen Jennings might win in the Artist Category and that Lisa Hannett’s Bluegrass Symphony might take out the collection category.  Maybe next year.

To the winners, congratulations.

:D Its all good in the end. I didn't realise it but The Paper Menagerie has won all the majors.
Three of the shortlisted including Kathleen have been in ASIM. Two of those, Ken and K.J., won. This happens often. Pity they never win for the stories they actually had in ASIM. ;-)

Hi Sue, yeah I was able to follow the digital breadcrumbs back to your site :)
I started Raventracks years ago as an experiment, then recently started actually posting there when I suddenly got a follower and thought I ought to. And also thought I'd better have a web site children can visit without getting confused. Thing is, I feel a bit silly when people wonder who on earth is Raventracks! Sue.
