Alisa Krasnostein of Twelfth Planet Press has done a great job of going through all of the Twelfth Planet Press publications and associated productions, letting us know what publications are eligible for what awards.
I sincerely wish more publishers and authors would do this. I think its increasingly important as we move more into the digital sphere and its easier for folk from other countries to read great Australian talent.
Please check out her post here.
But I will draw your attention to the Tin Duck nominations that close in a couple of days. The Galactic Chat Podcast of which I am a member is eligible for the Unpaid/Fan Production category (Alisa is a Western Australian).
So if you feel so inclined you can register here and nominate us for
Best WA Unpaid or Fan Production.

I've just finished nominating in the Hugos - the various notes people left about their own work was very much appreciated. So I for one would encourage people to put their modesty aside and make it easy for people to nominate them.

Did you find the Hugo's site especially hard to navigate around? I wanted to buy a membership that allowed me to vote but it was all a bit to difficult.

I ended up needing to set up a spreadsheet to track my potential nominations. It took a while to work out what to put in, and I wasn't even trying to nominate it categories I didn't know much about (Best Art, Best Graphic Novel type categories).
There were lots of great Australian podcasts to nominate - was a bit spoiled for choice!

Yes, it was a bit complicated wasn't it? I purchased a supporting membership for Chicon (being new to looking at the awards scene it took me a while to work out what a supporting membership was etc). Once I'd done that, it took a while for the information relating to the nomination process to come through.
After that I had to maintain a spreadsheet just to track what I wanted to nominate (and I wasn't even nominating things in all of the categories - I don't have any informed comment to make about best fan artist for instance).
Fortunately there were a lot of great Australian podcasts to nominate this year - I was spoiled for choice!

Well, at least you can see how well (or not) I can remember what I actually said from comment to comment!!!

Yes, it was a bit confusing wasn't it? It's the first year I've tried to participate in voting, so working out that I had to go to the Chicon website and register as a supporting member and sorting out how to do that was a bit of a pain. Having registered, it took a while for the nomination information to come through.
Then I created a spreadsheet to track who I might want to nominate before finally voting. And that was just trying to vote in the few categories I had an opinion on. Fortunately for my sanity I don't have any useful knowledge about Best Fan Artist (for instance).
On the plus side, there were a lot of excellent Australian podcasts to choose from in the Fanzine/Fancast categories - I was spoiled for choice!

Unfortunately not - couldn't swing getting across to WA. I'm tossing up getting Conflux and/or Continuum though. Are you thinking about either of them?
