And its pretty straight forward. Still think they could have perhaps underlined the point that this is to do with civil marriage and not religious marriage.

That's a great video. I hope it helps convince those who need convincing that love is love and everyone deserves the opportunity to experience love to the fullest extent they chose, including [civil] marriage.

I recently discovered that our government refuses to allow our homosexual citizens to get married in countries where it is legal. They do this by refusing to issue documents to the authorities performing the marriage that the show participant to have no impediments ie currently married. Strikes me as the worst possible kind of bureaucratic interference and malicious to boot. You'd think that with a female prime minister living unmarried with her partner we'd be a little more progressive.

That's part of the reason why I don't quite get why she is so anti-gay marriage. It's not like she is meeting the "norm" that she is holding up as being sacred!

Wow that's just horrible and sad and definitely malicious. And while I'm sure the prime minister doesn't have the authority to override all the policies already in place, you'd think there'd be more tolerance and acceptance for same sex marriages across the political board considering her presence as prime minister. I mean.. she has to have had the support of a lot of people to get where she is, right?

On a completely separate note, I am having trouble subscribing to comments and replies on your blog. I fill out the guest login and have tried subscribing to "replies" and "all new comments" and never get email notifications. I try to remember to come back to see replies to my comments. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for letting me know about the comments issue. I will have to find a way to test it out. You could register an intense debate account, but that seems like a hassle. I will see if anyone else has the problem.

Thanks for the intensedebate help link, but it didn't really help me. LOL. I subscribe to comments just as shown in the "Subscribe when posting a comment" section... as a guest, I suppose. I enter my username and email address below the comment box (which I believe must get my avatar through gravatar). This got me thinking, though, that this is a problem on my end, because I just realized I have the same problem when I leave comments on another site that I visit regularly that uses intensedebate also.

I was thinking about registering for an intense debate account, but realized the whole point of having a gravatar account is that you can post everywhere with ONE profile, one account... so I held off for now. I'll look into it some more when I have some time to kill. haha! Sorry to have left so many comments on this thread that are irrelevant to the posts' content! :$
